I keep asking my sims to cook meals that require a frying pan - but as soon as the sim places the pan on the Modern Gas stove top, they refuse to continue cooking. Cooking works fine on a regular stove and induction stove top, but not the specific gas stove top from dream home decorator.
I've checked if there's something in the way by placing the hob in different areas, but it still won't work.

I had the same issue as the person above, and it turns out that the cooktop was broken. It did not show animation of sparks or gas, nor did the game indicate that the cooktop was broken. I do have Videos of it. Video 1 shows that Sim can cook, but it would be too late because my Sim waves his hands in the air. Video 2 shows my Sim cooking, and after the repair, it works. Not sure if it was supposed to be like this or if they missed the broken animation for this appliance.
