Karma in Sims 4?

I'm just wondering if your Sims do some not very nice things are bad things prone to happen to them?

I had a Sim have an affair with a married man and they went on vacation together and as she was warming herself by the fire she actually caught on fire.

I've never had bad things happen to my other Sims and I only do good things with them.

Is it just a coincidence? Or have you guys noticed similar things.

@Ozaeki the only time The Sims had Karma in it was from an older version,  either The Sims 2 or The Sims 3 (I think it was TS3), but for the console version only.  With TS2 and TS3 the console version were completely different from the PC/Mac versions!  I don't remember which one it was, but one of the console version from back then did have Karma Points , or Karma Powers, or something like that.

And while the Sims 4 has never had karma in the game, we do have a new Sentiment system and a new Lifestyle system.  I I don't know if there is anything like what you are talking about with the new system since I had to take a break from playing TS4 to do some real-life stuff 😞, and so I haven't been able to experiment with that new system much, unfortunately. ☹️  However, this does not sound like the few sentiments and lifestyles I encountered when I have gotten a chance to play since then.
To be sure, I checked with Carl's Sims 4 Guide Lifestyles List - The Sims 4 Snowy Escape Expansion Pack Guide (carls-sims-4-guide.com)

and Learn About the New Sentiments Feature in The Sims 4 (carls-sims-4-guide.com)
But none of these seem to be anything like what you are talking about.  I only include them in case I have missed something.

That being said, fires do happen often in the Sims!  I do not like my Sims to have extra-marital affairs, yet they have often caught on fire ! 🤭😅  I think that what happened in your game  was just a coincidence! 😆😉
