I’m thinking of getting this laptop I play sims 3 and 4 with lots of mods and was wondering how well it’ll run

It is overkill for the Sims But if you play other games it may be more taxed there but not much. If you like it go for it.
What does overkill mean?
It means that lesser hardware (cheaper) could run the game at max settings.
Will this laptop be unable to run the game at max settings?
Of course not. When it is more powerful than absolutely needed it means that it will be able to run it at max with room to spare.
