Let Horses Through Gates when Rider has Access

I think that while a horse is being ridden, door/gate locks should check the rider's ability to pass through, rather than the horse's. So if I want to keep my animals fenced in, but still be able to mount a horse and go for a ride around the neighborhood, I don't have to unlock the gate to get out and then reset it when they're back.

LittleMsSam has a "special paddock gate" mod to deal with this, but I really think it should be available in vanilla gameplay.

  • @PipMenace I agree with you! Would make life easier. Personally I don't lock up any of the horses they roam but not far on their own.

I thought since there are no foxes I wouldn't fence the chickens in either. Pfft that was a mistake, the little beggars get lost and you have to call them a bunch to get them home. One took days to get home and he was unhappy and starving. The next day he was off again so I put a fence up. You have to lock the gate to keep them in and also to keep goats, sheep, horses out. LOL Fun finding out anyway!

  • @PipMenace It works perfectly with doors locked to small children and pets than can be carried. Toddlers shouldn't be able to go outside on their own so the doors are kept locked but then an adult sim can carry them out for some outdoor play time. It would only make sense to have the same logic with horses. Except let the horse carry you and not the other way around.
