My sim aged up to teen. I chose one of the new hairs from the Life and Death pack as he is a son of Grim's. I chose the short hair duel color hair and every time I leave CAS it removes and says that it is not owned by the account.
@ethan12009 Okay, this is definitely weird. That hair style appears to be missing color swatches! And the one you're trying to apply is one of the missing swatches.
Note that there are only 22 swatches available while on this hairstyle:
...but if you switch to a different hair, you can see there should be 24 swatches.
And if while on one of the "extra" swatches on another hair (like the darker black above), you switch back to the two-tone hair, you'll see a swatch that's not available otherwise, and no swatch shows as selected.
...and when you try to enter live mode with this glitched swatch, you get the item removed message.
...so short-term solution, try one of the non-glitched swatches. Long-term solution, I think this is a bug EA will need to fix.

Haven't been receiving the 'item removed and not owned' message, though.

Play with mods but removed from game to test.
Repaired the game with mods removed and am now getting the same error popup as OP.
I'm having the same issue with the same hair swatch. I have tested both with and without mods and it continues to happen without mods. Not sure yet whether it's hit other CAS items in the game too.
