Lost 1.5-year save and now my game won’t save at all after the June 30 update

After the June 30th update, I started playing my game again. Before that, I wasn’t playing as much, and everything was working normally. While I was playing after the update, nothing seemed out of the ordinary until I realized my main save was gone.

At first, I thought maybe I accidentally deleted it while trying to save, but I’m honestly not sure that’s what happened. When I realized the save was missing, I restarted the game and even restarted my PS5 because I thought at the very least there would be an autosave I could recover. There wasn’t.

Losing a year and a half of progress was heartbreaking, but I tried to move on by recreating some of my Sims, households, and builds. That’s when I noticed another problem: the game won’t save anymore. I can’t overwrite a save, and it doesn’t seem like it’s creating new saves or autosaves either.

Now I’m completely confused. I don’t know if my original save was somehow corrupted, if I accidentally deleted it, or if something changed after the June 30th update. I’m playing on PS5, so I don’t have access to PC recovery options, and I didn’t have PlayStation Plus cloud backups enabled. Has anyone else experienced this or found a solution?
