Lost both Reborn sims

I don't know if its just me but with every update I feel like this game becomes less and less useable. I just tried to rebirth two separate sims into a home and they vanished in create-a-sim. No worries so I cancel in create-a-sim, to try to replace this soul, except the soul has now disappeared. What do I do???
