Lots on map disappear when I travel to them

What happens is everything looks totally normal when I start things up. All the lots I’ve placed or built are where they’re supposed to be on the map. As soon as I try to go to one of those lots, however, it takes me to the lot as it looks when you start up the game for the first time. All the original houses and empty lots, and when you look around, all the surrounding houses are in the same reverted state (factory reset.) I go back to the map and I see the lots I’ve installed and built again though. 

This is the second time this has happened to me recently. The first was maybe a week and a half ago, and I ended up uninstalling the game entirely and starting a new save file when I downloaded it again. I spent the last week building my worlds back up only to have this happen again. When I open up recovered Save files, from times when this was not an issue, this still happens. I’m losing so many hours of building with this 😭

I do use a few mods but nothing has changed on that front.
