Make pronouns selectable

Hello! I have to say, I love the amount of detail I can give my sim to make them look like me. However, I wish that you could select your own pronouns too. This goes especially for non-binary players/sims, so they won't have to still be restricted into "female" or "male" categories. So for example, even if the game assigns you the "female" trait, you can still choose he/him pronouns to be used for that sim. And add an option for they/them pronouns. In earlier sims games default messages already use non-gendered pronouns for messages/notifications about your sim, why not do it now? I love to play with a sim that looks exactly like me, but reading she/her pronouns in notifications and texts really takes me out of the immersion and also gives me some dysphoria.

  • @LadyLesbians Thank you for this!  I'm certain the developers are capable of adding and definitely should add a section labeled "Identifies as: Male / Female / Non-binary" which would govern the game's pronoun usage.

I do think they need to go further than adding pronoun options, though.  While I'm glad you've been able to make it work for you, I actually found the options lacking.  If my character's gender is male with a female frame, they just get wide hips and more narrow chest and shoulders.  Why can't they have breasts?  If my character's gender is female with a masculine frame, they get broader shoulders and narrower hips but they still have breasts.  "Play With Life" is their slogan.  Shouldn't that represent anyone's life?  Thanks again for highlighting this!  I do hope the devs are paying attention.

PS  If you're on PC and not averse to using mods, you might want to check out the LGBT mod by PimpMySims4.  This mod has lots of cool features including LGBT and non-binary traits, as well as events and hot spot lot traits. <3
