Make stairs go diagonal sims 4

Sims 4 should have diagonal stairs. You can make a room diagonal but when you put stairs in it they go across the whole room.

EA please consider making the stairs go diagonal as well. I’ve been trying to build a house that I’ve seen IRL but can’t because stairs only go four directions :’(

thanks for taking my suggestion. Can’t wait to see the new update :-)

  • Alternatively you could build stairs using shelfs and TOOL, save it as a room and plant it in your builds. At least until maxis figures out how to offer pre-built diagonal stairs.

  • @spankindmg  Yes, please!  I added my "me too".  This is one of the main reasons I hate building diagonal rooms.  Thanks for sharing.

curved/spiral staircases would also be good. They've been in previous iterations of the sims, why not Sims 4?

I couldnt wait for a basegame patch that offers spiral stairs so I built some myself.

  • @spankindmg I agree 100%! 'Me Too' and XP from me! I do build with diagonal rooms, but almost inevitably once I am to the point of no return I want to do something that I cannot, and I regret that I committed to diagonal.

@taffster74 I would love to have some nice spiral staircases to choose from! I was looking today at a Mod that offers them in a 'Sims 2' style, and using the elevator function for the Sim to navigate them (transport/teleporting, not stepping up/down). I was also watching a lovely YouTube video that Kate Emerald made for making them with platforms. Definitely more work than normal stairs, and not as slick as if they were offered in the game, but these are some options, if you want to Google them and see what you think. Personally, I build for others more than for me, and I cannot offer a build to someone that relies on Mods/CC, but I think I will be trying out Kate's stairs (made with platforms).

@spankindmg, I tried Kate's tutorial (using platforms to make 'stairs') in a diagonal room, but unfortunately the process in her video worked differently in a diagonal room. However, I was able to place stairs in the diagonal room, just not in all directions... and what you want is probably an angle that doesn't work, I assume. ☹️
