My sim uses the other side of the counter

Hi I'm not sure this is a bug or just a route issue, so I just want to hear many opinions here.

In general, I don't like to place the counters on wall because I don't like my sims prepare the food facing the wall.

I brought a video that my sim is cooking.

This type of the counter causes this issue. Other counters do all same.

This type doesn't seem to causes the issue. Should I change to this type?

I want my sims use the front side of the counters.

All used materials for house are maxis items. I use a few ccs for a skintone and a couple of jeans.

  • @aodoherty, Thanks for replying and for all the pictures!  Those really help explain what you are up against! 😇   I'm sorry the half walls didn't work. 😞  It was worth a try though. Looking at your pictures, I see that your half walls on the right side have glass on top of them.  You could try half walls like those on the center counters, if you don't mind the glass on top. 😉

And here's the thing-- it often isn't enough to just remove your CC out of your Mods folder, as you usually should move your Mods folder to your desktop for testing, and even then this might not fix everything as sometimes bits of corrupted data can remain behind.  Therefore, it is standard procedure to do all of the following:

    1) Move the Mods Folder to your desktop

    2) Delete localthumbcache.package file in the game folder.

    3) Fix you game in Origin by logging in and go to Library, then right-click on The Sims 4 and choose the "Repair Game" option from the list.  Wait until Origin finishes repairing all your packs and not just the base game.

    4) Now, when you turn on your game again, it will create a new mods folder that will be empty.  Check to see if your game is now working without mods/CC.

    5) Now you can try adding back items from your Mods folder one at a time checking your game each time to see which item is causing your game to not work properly.  If you have a lot of items, you can try the 50/50 Method.

The CC creators will usually update the CC items and Mods after these updates, so when you find out which one is the culprit, you can get the updated version from whoever made that item of CC in the first place.  You should try these steps any time you have problems in your game to rule out CC/Mods problems.  It is the responsibility of the Mods/CC creators to update their items anytime EA releases a patch/update, and it is the responsibility of the people who use Mods/CC to make sure they are using the most recent version.

Now, if this doesn't work, there might be another problem with your game. It could be a bug or something on your end.  In your particular case, though, I don't think this is a CC/Mods issue, as I stated earlier that I have seen my Sims use the wrong side of the counters occasionally, and I don't play with Mods or CC. 🤨  (I'm only including the instructions for testing your CC/Mods for future reference. 😇 You will most likely have to use these steps after EA updates the game with a patch, at least to rule out and CC/Mod conflicts with your game. )

I even looked for a Bug Report on this topic and couldn't' find one. 🤔

If you don't want to try half walls with the glass on top of them , then I would try the island counters version of the counter you want to use and then just put stools in all the slots you don't want them to access.  It's worth a try, and could be a simple fix .  🤔

Please update us on if the islands with stools or the half walls with glass tops help. 😇
