Read an article on gamerant - they gave a tip that if you can't see the chair in the options, you have to claim the reward, which is the chair.

Despite my sim having level five in handiness I can´t make the recycled desk at the handiness desk - the option doesn´t appear. I was able to make the recycled chair. But now that I can´t make the desk, I can´t progress with the event. :(

I don´t use mods.

  Hi crinrict thank you for the tipp! That´s the problem - I haven´t claimed the reward yet because there was some kind of error occuring. After closing the game and opening it again it worked so everything is fine now! :)
