Need Help With Question!!

Hi!
i sent in a help email to the EA help thing but am struggling to see if they answered my question or not, so I thought I would ask here!

I played the sims 4, with expansion packs, on a MacBook Air. Recently my Mac’s screen broke and I’ve decided to just change to an Asus gaming laptop instead. I’m wondering, if I log into Origin on the new laptop, with the same account that I was using on the MacBook, will I still be able to access the sims 4 and all the expansion packs that I previously purchased or will I have to star over and repurchase all of my packs on the new device?

hoping I was clear enough, and hoping for some answers 🙂

  • @SimonCasss  You would need to use the EA App, not Origin, on a Windows laptop.  But yes, as long as you sign in with the same account (email address and password) you've been using in Origin, your owned packs will be available for download.

You'll need to transfer your saves and Tray files manually should you want to keep that data.  If your Mac's screen is entirely unusable, not merely cracked and unpleasant to use, you could use Target Disk Mode to access its files from a second Mac.  Or you could go to an Apple Store and ask someone to help you with the process.  In any case, I suggest zipping the folder(s) you're transferring beforehand so the files don't get damaged in the process.  On a Mac, right-click a given folder and select Compress; on a Windows PC, right-click the .zip and select Extract.

  • I’m changing my computer from MAC to PC. I wondered if I will be able to use the Sims4 and the other sims packs I have in Origin on my new Windows PC? What do I need to do to make it work?
