    Hi there

It seems your settings of Neighborhood Stories System is disabled from your pic of Neighborhood Stories System pannel.
So, check your setting of game option>Game Play>Neighborhood Stories setting is toggle on. And open the Neighborhood Stories System pannel, check toggle on the upper-right corner and click lower right corner check button. Then the pannel changes to as following pics and change to the system is abled.

Trying to check this in my game because I rely on families not moving around.

    @somberlysober
    a) Are you getting any notifications from the mailbox interaction ("Check Recent Neighborhood Stories")?

    b) Did you notice this happening to families other than special NPCs? (like the Sage in your screenshot)

I tried in a new save, most recent patch, configured NS like in the screenshot, disabled NS for Other Households and played for a two sim-weeks.

I had no NS notifications or sims moving around.

I also tested with NS turned on for Other Households and disabled moving and adoptions and I did get notifications for other types of events. No households moving though. Played this way for two weeks, got between 1-3 events per day but no moving.

I did notice that I had to enable Neighborhood Stories in order to edit the options for Other Households because NS is disabled by default. Did you have NS enabled at some point or configured differently? Because the patch just came out, I assume most of the playtime was before the patch. Did the moving start after updating or do you think it was happening before?

If their NS is disabled though shouldn't there be zero move outs and move ins?

Just to be sure, when did you remove mods, and did you delete the localthumbcache file?

Did you have MCCC or any other mod that causes sims to move in or out?

  • It looks like this happens in my vanilla game even when the feature is disabled. I get excessive neighbourhood news about NPCs moving in and out since the first CrCr patch. Will keep an eye on this.

Try disabling Neighborhood stories in settings. It's hard to see the scroll bar but if you are playing at 1200x800 resolution the setting to disable neighborhood stories will be JUST BELOW your field of view. Scroll your mouse down and tick the box to disable it. Can't believe that setting was there.

I don't want to disable neighbourhood stories but just the moving in/out feature which should be possible in the Manage World Panel.

    Hi there
Did you close the NS settings panel with clicking the lower right check mark?
You need to click the check mark for completing the settings. And in the case changing settings, actions determined before the settings change may be executed. So, you'll need to wait a few sim-days.
    Hope this help.

Following information from above I have the apporiate settings off (set as disabled completely off), but the neighbor stories are continuing the background! I have a played sim living in an apartment got a notification that the sims broke the lease and moved out. Without interacting with sims in game, I am also noticing that they are getting married and moving in the background. I don't want neighborhood stories going and would prefer if I can have multiple played families in the same save without worrying that changing things in the background.

I was using a mod (MC Command Center) to increase max sims on a lot. I started it a new file to test it (without mods loaded) and the settings described here work. *sign* I didn't realize that this mod had settings that affected other sims in my game like this. Sorry about that thanks for you time.
