I'am soooo excited for this to come out!! the Bunnies look so adorable and its awesome that we are getting llamas!! I hope the gameplay is as interesting as the trailer made it seem. The only thing I wish was kinda in the pack is Pigs but its ok at least we are getting a farming pack, and who knows maybe one day we will get pigs.
@sapphirelover1 , when I lived in an apartment we would have some bunnies visit our porch! I read that they love parsley and that it is good for them, so would buy extra just for them! (I also tried lettuce since my friend's pet bunny loved it, and carrots, but they liked the parsley best! 💗 Maybe if the carrots still had their tops they would have preferred that?)
I think pigs are tricky... while you can keep a cow for milk, and therefore keep the cow alive, most people usually only keep pigs for meat on a farm (Arnold Zifflel not withstanding! 🤣 Watch the old TV show Green Acres if you don't know what I mean! 🥰 ) So while some people keep pigs for pets, most farms don't. Yes, I would love to have pigs in the game, but that would pose some problems. Now, if they ever were to make a Unusual Pets pack, with pigs, snakes, otters, iguanas, etc, that would work better! 🥳
@DonroaAkashu I like your idea of having pigs search for plant items. You said "quorns" so I am guessing you meant "acorns' . They could also find truffles!🤤 (But I guess that would mean we would have to take them camping with us in Outdoor Living! 🤣 )
@SheriGR , yes I love the bird feeder as well! 🐦 And I'm glad you found that we can fish if we stock the ponds! 🐟 I will also do both Off and On the Grid farming! 🥰 And I love your builds . While they look great, what is best is that I can rely on them since you playtest them! 🙌 I can't tell you how many times I have fallen for a pretty or cool build, only to be disappointed that I have to change things to make it playable... or worse , that I can't figure out how to make it playable at all! 😥
@IrisuChan Welcome to the Sims ! 🥰 So happy you are enjoying it!!! 🥳 I assume having to use foods that you harvest (be it plants or eggs, milk, or fish) would be a Lot Trait, but I could be wrong. I can't wait for the Developer's Livestream on this!!! We don't know when that will be, but they stream it on Twitch. I'm glad you are enjoying Backyard Stuff! I really love some of the clutter items and things like the flower pinwheel decorative item . I forget what it is called. I enjoy the bright colors in that pack!
@SheriGR and @DonroaAkashu , I actually prefer a bit bigger lots. Medium size is good (Call me Goldilocks, even though my hair is not blonde!) For some Sims I like small lots, others large lots , but most I like medium lots! However, i find when I build, I build best on small lots with the Tiny Living requirements!!
Also, I think the part of the trailer that you can see Sims swimming and not on the edge is from the river that comes with this world/neighborhood. I believe I read that somewhere. I could be wrong, but I heard it from someone else, possibly a Game Changer or a Sim Guru, but it could be a comment I read somewhere. It would make sense!
I've never heard of "hen tipping"... only cow tipping! 🤔
@3Rosez , yes, I'm still guessing that the new death is "Death by Chicken Attack"!!! Also, there was a Sims 3 Sims Store that had a cow and chicken you could buy and if you tipped the cow you could milk it and get a Milk Shake! 😮🤭 But I'm not sure since I never bought the items as that Sims 3 Store was waaaaaaaay too expensive! I would get a few items but that was it. I'm so glad they don't have that for the Sims 4! 😅
However, that was many years ago... I'm thinking they might not have cow tipping in the game because that is unnecessarily mean to the cows.
Also, I think one of the Sim Gurus stated that there would be at least one large lot in the new world. I think we will need some bigger ones if we want to have a full farm with lots of produce planted , and also if you want a family with a lot of kids! Sadly I don't' remember what size was quoted.
Now, as to how many lots we get in the world is anyone's guess. I think that depends on how big the lots are to begin with! 😉
Also, I wonder if the kids helping with the cooking will be with all recipes or just the new ones that come with the pack. I also hope kids can now water plants!!!! That is something that they should have been able to do from the beginning!!! I can see not letting them use bug spray, and even weeding can be strenuous and time consuming, but watering is quick and most real life kids like helping in that manner. 🌼🌷🌹
While Knitting was my top vote, I would have loved Glass-blowing as well. I hope we get it one day, and pottery as well! I don't know what the number 2 vote was after knitting, but even if cross-stitch wasn't #2, I think the main reason that we will get it in this pack is it gives a use for the llama's wool for those players that don't have the Nifty Knitting SP! The only thing that would have been better to use the llama wool than cross-stitching would have been Weaving! 💗

Oh, no, but that was a really good idea @PugLove888 , that way they could add pigs to all of our delight, but no horrifying scenes to raise the rating, since the purpose of them would instead be to search for truffles in the forest. I actually mean the vegetarian substitute, made from mushrooms among other things. And I am also half joking! :P

@DonroaAkashu well while I'm glad they didn't add pigs with this pack, I do hope they add them as pets or for foraging one day! 😀

@PugLove888 I bought a few things from the Sims 3 store as well. It was a let down when you had to BUY with your real money the Cow Plant at the time in order to be 0laces in the game. I gave my buddy a nice home when he entered on a plot. 😅🤣 The dragon world too because well dragons. Lol. Indeed the items were expensive and I agree I'm glad theres no such things in Sims 4 now.
Omg...that is too funny with the death by chicken. *prepares my Sims for the worst* lol. I miss having reptiles in the game. I personally love snakes and lizards, find them dangerously beautiful. (spiders I will be 5 miles away thank you. 😶) OTTERS! that is an awesome idea! I can only envision the large AMOUNT of options to have them swim. Ocean, fountains, ponds, swimming pools, bath tubes. 😅 so, instead of a destructive need, they would need to swim.
One of my houses I lived in for a good year had a boarding horse barn. The property was HUGE, but i could sit on the front steps and just watch the horses grazing. By summer (that can reach up to 90° F) The smell of the fertilizer was heavy in the air. So right when I got out of my car or door it was a slap in the nose. Many times I wanted to go across the street to just pet the horses but I didnt think it was wise as they might be other people's horses. 😅
Pug, Sim Gurus live stream also on YouTube too, they set the launch time to start before it goes live. That's how I watch the live streams.
I've been liking the 30 x 20 lots as the 50 x 50s are just TOO big for me right now and after placing down a house I have no idea what else to in on the lot. I guess it will change per Farm land but sometimes there is too much space in the house. I lose where my sims are, even with multiple stories. LOL. I did manage a 4 story house with a 50 x 50 in sims 3, and that was the longest running game I ever did. By then, I made an evil clone from a good hearted scientist, then built a plumbot, and I really cant remember who else was in that house. Lol. They had to use elevator's to get from one floor to the other.
Hey when I was a child, I had to WORK in summer. Dad trimmed the trees every summer so they didnt lean on the electric lines. I would be DRAGGING branches twice-three times my size to the side of the road. I mowed the lawn once but I ran into the house, didnt do damage but there was a loud bang. It was in the room my dad was in too. So, I was instead tasked to move outdoor seating and stuff for dad to mow the area. Start of Autumn, it was a family effort to move the fire wood into the basement before the 8 months of winter hit. So yeah, kids doing more stuff around the house will maybe have me place them down more. Little pixelated snots got it good now.
Oooh..pottery! I forgot about the pottery suggestion. That WOULD be cool too! I am crossing my fingers for all the amazing hobbies! For weaving would Sims need one of those weaving boards? I'm not sure what they are called but I seen them on tv. Wool for the Nofry Knitting could open a door for more items to knit or slam the door where now you need the wool to make your creations. Lol. Oh boy.

@3Rosez I never got the dragon from the Sims 3 Store. I mostly remember the dragons for the Sims 1! 😂 But I know a lot of people loved the Sims 3 one!
I've heard that otters don't make good pets, so they probably wouldn't include them in the game in that manner, but I just had to mention them because they are so darn cute! 😍🦦 I think they would be fun in the game!
I have a real life friend who has an blue-tonged skink, a snake, and a turtle! (Not to mention a large dog and two cats! ) And I would much rather have snakes than spiders any day!!! I bet there are a lot of people who would love reptiles in the game!
I knew that the Sim Gurus would put their livestreams on YouTube, at least later, and I've seen other people livestream on YouTube, but I didn't know that the Sim Gurus would also livestream on YouTube. I usually don't the livestreams when they are actually live anyway, as the times usually aren't convenient for me, so I usually just watch the replay on YouTube anyway! 😃
I think I prefer lot sized that are like 30x40. I just need room for them to grow both a famiy and a garden! And I often end up with a big garden so that is why I am not to fond of the smallest lots.
Your memories of watching horses sound lovely! 🥰🐴 Your childhood chores sound rough but not unreasonable. I guess it helps if you love the outdoors! 😎🌳
I took a few pottery courses years ago, so that is why I didn't forget about that we had that option to vote for! It is a lot of fun, but throwing a pot on the pottery wheel is a lot harder than it looks! But I made some nice pieces... some on the wheel, and some by rolling out slabs where you construct them, and some just formed by hand (pinch pots). Hopefully we will get both glass blowing and pottery in the game! 💗
I think what you are referring to is a weaving loom. There are many different types though! Some are small and suitable for kids or for portable projects, some are used on a table, and some are floor looms which are huge! Also some looms are better suited for tapestry weaving (where you can kind of make abstract shapes or landscapes, and others are more suited for textiles where you can make stripes, plaid , or intricate patterns! I really wanted a table top rigid heddle loom, but I don't really need one! 😅- IrisuChan4 years agoNew Ace
Hi all, did anyone already get the pack? How are your experiences with the pack content? And any issues with gameplay?
