No horses in Horse Ranch

Hi. I've not played in a while so I was unaware of the Horse Ranch issue when I bought it today. There are no horses in any of the premade families.

I've tried every piece of advise online and nothing has worked. The only way I can get horses to appear is if I lose my entire saved file and start from scratch. Do I need to lose 6+ years worth of Sims to get horses or is there some other way?

So far I've repaired the game, uninstalled and reinstalled and cleared the cache files. I don't play with mods. I don't want to download the Sims from the gallery as they won't have any relationships with each other. Is a refund possible since I wasn't aware there wouldn't be horses in a horse game (🙄) or do I just have to accept that in order to play Horse Ranch, I have to lose all my Sims, lots and achievements?

That wasn't the issue. The issue is that none of the premade families have their horses and I like to play as the premades. It defeats the point of the Horse Ranch pack if none of the Sims it includes have their horses.

To purchase a horse first purchase a horse bed. Click on it and select Call Ranch Animal Exchange and purchase a horse. As you see there are horses in the game.
