I started the Best Friends household (Becca Clarke and Julia Wright) for testing purposes and Becca joined the soccer team. Term had already started, so it was too late to apply for a scholarship. I'll try to get her one next term. Becca does have a Daily Task to Practice Kicking or Juggling and she's scheduled for an activity from 6PM to 9PM on Monday through Saturday. I'm guessing that's team practice during the week and games on Friday and Saturday.
I'm playing on PC. I've never used any mods or custom content. Update is version 1.109.207.1020 (DX11) (64 Bit). Hope that helps.
