NPC Roles in Cottage Living, Cheats don't work

Hello dear people,

I'm a bit desperate at the moment.

I tried to assign some roles in Cottage Living back to the original ones. I managed to make Michael Bell the Creature Keeper again with:

traits.equip_trait trait_Hidden_CottageWorld_NPC_CritterTender

Here's what I did:

- I moved them into an empty lot.

- I enabled testingcheats.

- I added the required trait using cheat.

After that, I exited to Manage Worlds, marked him unplayed, and evicted him.

When I tried to apply the same procedure to Kim Goldbloom, it didn’t work. I used the following cheats for that:

careers.add_career career_Adult_CottageWorld_NPC_GroceryOwner

traits.equip_trait trait_Hidden_CottageWorld_NPC_GroceryOwner

It didn’t work with the previously described method.

I even tried adding Kim's Sim ID to the cheats, but every time, a random Townie gets assigned the Grocery Owner role.

What should I do?

  • If you can't restore things back the way they were, I would advise you to save your family to your Library via the Gallery, then start a brand-new save. This will restore what you changed, and then bring your family back by downloading them. If you built a lot for them, make certain you have a copy of it in your Library, too and download it to your new game, then add your family to it. Best of luck!

  • Also one more mod free way to do it is:

You can browse the gallery,  try searching NPC, henfordnpc, or similar..  there are original sims with roles on,  uploaded  by many simmers.

Download and place to empty lot and evict from map. Do not load the lot in live mode.
