Online mode hasn't worked

I have been playing the sims 4 for around 5 years, and around 6 months ago the gallery and anything else online within the game will not work. I cannot use the new marketplace feature which then blocks me from attaining the new free items. Not being able to use the gallery is super annoying because I loved downloading builds. Every time I press the "connect to online" feature, it completely doesn't work and I am left hopeless. I have uninstalled mods, uninstalled the game and reinstalled it, repaired it, and nothing will happen. I am playing on a year old mac-book, so my device cannot be the issue. I am just wondering if anyone knows what to do because I am really at a loss with this game now.

    I have been having a similar issue. If I remove my mods, repair the game, and restart it then I seem to be able to get online and connect to the gallery. I tried doing that and then added my mods back bit by bit to see what would make it break, and everything seemed fine - but once I had all of my mods back in the Mods folder the game wouldn't connect again. It's so frustrating!
