Optical Problem

Hello everyone,

I have started SIMs again for a few months. As far as I can understand, everything should be up to date (game & mods). However, my Sim looks a bit strange from time to time (see picture).

It looks like the clothes and body are wet. Stays that way even after showering. This is even the case in CC.
Is this a feature or a graphical error? it looks terrible!

Any help ?

    Solved:

I found the problem. After a long search and excluding mods that my female sims were wearing, it was ultimately a mod watch. That kept causing this error.

Now I can play in peace again.

In the top picture you can even see the red wristwatch, the culprit.

  • @Peregrym007 Please try the following:

Exit your game. Move your Mods folder from your "The Sims 4" folder [Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4] to your desktop (save it for reference) and delete the localthumbcache.package file in your “The Sims 4” folder. Then check in a new game save to see if this issue is still occurring. You can test without saving. This will tell you if a Mod/CC is the issue.

    Thanks for the answer.

I'll test it when I get a chance.

    What I've tried so far:

    - Error can be triggered by manually changing outfits. Sometimes after 5 times or less, sometimes more

    - different save game with a different family, same problem

Here's another picture where you can see more clearly how the clothes in the house are shiny and somehow they no longer have any teeth.

    My System:

    Windows 10

    32 GB RAM @ 3200 MHz

    MSI RTX 3070

    WQHD resolution

    (all drivers up to date)
