I already tried using that guide before creating this post. I created a whole new sim, went to a lot with a house and without to try and change the lot type to haunted house but nothing has worked. I even tried it with my old sim as well, no progress.
Move your Mods folder to the Desktop and delete localthumbcache.package. Then test the game.
If it works now check for updates to your Mods and CC. Add it back a little at a time while testing until you have found all that are broken.
I'd already mentioned all that above, and they have not confirmed that they use mods, too many people in one thread, often gets confusing @jpkarlsen
