Pet breeding in sims 4

I have my sim be companions with her pets (2 dogs, 1 male, 1 female, both unfixed) and when I get her to ask one of them to breed with another, they'll agree, and go to the other pet, and then nothing will happen. I've tried to do it like 15 times on separate days. I've tried restarting the game, updating it, and everything else and still no luck

    @calliejane1999 Pet breeding is really tricky pets need to have a good relationship with each other and the breeder. Also, the female pet needs to be in heat, little hearts that show up. Once a female is in heat you can ask them to breed and your likely know in a while if the pet has a litter, the size of the litter depends on how munch household space you have in your household. Remember you can keep the puppies or give them to the adoption agency for money.
