No, I have not tried turning on MoveObject before placing lot. I should try that out. (most sim player don't normally turn that on to place lots to play)
yes, I have notice hammering wall oddly removes, doors, stairs, chairs on the opposite side top floor of the house (not this one I make sure of that)
I own ever pack ESG from Sim 1-4 cd/dvd and Origin base) and all collectable (Big Supporter of Maxis 20 plus years Simmer) No Game Mods/CC
well, 1. MCCC (story progression is stale without it)
but oddly, if I build a new house on lets say, Ward Den lot, back it up to gallery then replace the lot from Gallery 99% of objects in that house are place
if I take that same Newly place Gallery house place it, lets say Newcrest Twin Oracle point lot, about 25% those items are missing when the house is place.
either The Gallery is messing up or the lots are. all I know something is
I don't want to share a 3 week build to have missing objects on downloaders
@LadyDarkSorrow Unfortunately many players don't think to mention the use of MOO while building, or the suggestion to have it active while placing. Additionally many do not placement test it. I can't blame them entirely since sometimes placement and play testing take days for me, since I use MOO/alt-placement/debug items/enlarge for some aspects now.... and I placement and play test until all will place properly with MOO off, which means many tweaks and having to give up some things I originally wanted.
It may be helpful for you to test in a new save without the MOD, and also with the cache file removed, just to make sure if this is affecting anything:
If you would like to share it to the gallery for testing purposes I'd be happy to try placing in my game with and without MOO active:

okay. I tested this With Moveobject On and somewhat works, it still removing pillar place on or next to platforms and some stairs
so its kind of a work around. but, this shouldn't be the new norm still needs to be looked it to
pillar, windows, and windows covering, don't play well with platforms I have notice

@LadyDarkSorrow I'm glad it helps at least. I have not been building as much recently except to test until the last couple of weeks. I've loosely noticed that some things seem to be less fidgety to place, though the jury's out on if that makes a difference since I haven't yet done my placement testing with MOO off.
But...There are a couple of pillars that seemed to have spontaneously disappeared when I re-enter the lot or the room (not sure since I've only peripherally noticed this)? ... and curtains are driving me nuts. You may want to 'Me Too' this post if the same aspects of curtain placement is what you're referring to:

If you can find a context in which it happens consistently maybe a bug report would be in order (unless one's in place that I didn't see yet).

I don't normally build big Mansion style houses and I rarely run into these issue or the level of detail went into this build . so dropping a small house with few things would not see any or maybe 1 missing items. yesterday I tested this
only 3 items went missing use Moveobjects when placing this Mansion, Pillar, and Both main stairs. this was a pain in the backside trying to replace.
I just hope Sim Team see this and look into fixing this
SheriGR thanks for hearing me out
