@mdtotexas82 You can actually only edit the police station while your Sim is at work because it's an active lot and there's no other way to access it. You can do it while using the cheat bb.enablefreebuild but before you do, I'd make a backup save of your game incase anything goes wrong. Because it's an active lot and has daily tasks assigned to the job that need to be completed, it's really tricky to edit without affecting the career.
I've edited it myself by redecorating but without moving important things like the jail cells, interview rooms, fingerprint station. I added a gym and cafeteria and modernised the office.
If any career tasks don't work and you've made a backup save then there's no harm done.
