Politician branch
My sim graduated from university in communications but can now only join the charity organizer branch of the politicians career. How do I switch branch’s to the politician branch????

When you select the career for any University graduate, the careers that your degree gives you a head start on, show up in red in the window on the right describing the career. You'll start the career at a higher level. But if scroll the selection panel on the left, the original career is still there but you start at a much lower level. So, to switch to the other branch of any career, you just select the original career and work your way up to where the career branches and chose the other branch.

Go back to the University of Britechester and study History this time. A History degree from UBrite will let you join the Politician branch at level 7 or 8, depending on whether you earn honors. Since you already have a degree, you'll only need 8 classes to earn a second degree.
Of course, you can also do what @CGrant56 suggested. However, the History degree means you'll get a signing bonus, higher pay, and faster vacation days, and it might even be faster than working your way up through the base career.
