8 years agopresident's day sale??
Hi, I recently got back into the sims 4. I haven't played since the get to work expansion and I see all the new ones I'd like to purchase! I read online that I recently missed the February 9th sale ...
Yeah, I understood it was a real holiday, I just though it was sooo American that I had to make a remark on it lol 😉
But yeah, like I said, in addition to having two sales really close to one another, I think that EA focuses on internationally known days. It would probably be an uproar if only the US had a big sale, but no other countries. Also, I think other countries might be weirded out by a "USA President's day sale", as it might be strange for them for different reasons, like historical, to celebrate the American presidents 🙂 (or maybe they would be happy that games were on sale, but not the reason they were)
I hope there is a sale during the spring though. It would be amazing if EA had a big sale during the Women's day (8th march) to celebrate women in gaming! :eahigh_file:
@CMeki, yes that would be strange, especially for people who aren't' from the U.S. 😃 But the OP was probably just thinking "EA often has sales on holidays, so what is the next holiday coming up? Oh! President's Day! Maybe they will have a sale then!?!" 🥳 But then again, I would have gladly gotten really into Groundhog Day f(for example) if it meant Sims 4 Games were going to be on sale! 🥳:eahigh_file: (Although Groundhogs are really cute! ❤️ ) But I have an app that is from a country based in Asia. They often have give-aways on holidays I may or may not be familiar with, but I'm always happy to get those freebies, no matter what the reason! :eahigh_file: It also makes me want to learn about those other holidays that people in the U.S. might not be so familiar with! 🥳
Yeah, right now Uplay (Ubisoft) has a Chinese New years sale for example, but that's also like a huge holiday that is not only celebrated in China but many other Asian countries. So I guess it's considered an international holiday, even if it's not a western international holiday 🙂
Last year I were in Hong Kong & Malaysia for Chinese New Years, which was amazing! :D
I've seen that movie about the guy reliving Groundhog Day over and over again, so I've heard about that one! xD
Sorry, I forgot to reply to @CMeki from an earlier post! 🤭 Yes! Lunar New Year is huge! Some restaurants here offer some special dishes for the occasion that are only available during this time! 🥳 That is wonderful that you were in Asia last year during the Lunar New Year! 😎
Yes! My husband and I love the movie "Groundhog Day"! ❤️ I always found it odd that while animals often can give us signs about the weather or when the change of seasons will happen, the inventors of this holiday pick the one thing that really wouldn't give us a true indication of such changes! 😃:eahigh_file: Maybe if they make a Seasons type EP for The Sims 4, they can add a groundhog to help our Sims predict Spring! 😇 :eahigh_file:
Oh, that's nice! :D While I love "western Chinese food", the food that they actually eat in China is sometimes quite scary. I'm happy I do not eat meat because my friends got some really weird things sometimes! Although they do have amazing food too, you just have to learn Chinese to order the right things haha! (I studied Mandarin for two years but that's not enough to make out what the menus say) 😇 I'm sure that more expensive restaurants are better at having menus in English, but we were poor students (Hong Kong is expensive), so we usually went to small street restaurants!
I would love to have some special dishes here too though, to change up it a bit. The closest restaurant to my home is one called ChinaThai, so it would be a good opportunity for them! :D
Haha omg, yes, the groundhog in The Sims would be so funny. They're like the size of a cat, so maybe they could add it as an add-on cat-race in Cats&Dogs and also have it in Seasons for those who do not have Cats&Dogs, but not ownable. Maybe as a festival, like the ones in City Living, and the groundhog was there during that event in some form! :eahigh_file:
