It may be possible that the amount of time you are playing in the area in-between visits to the items is not long enough. In other words, you don't just need to have Sim-time pass in-between visits to the item/area, you may also need to spend a certain amount of that sim-time IN that area/world/area. There may also be a factor of items that do not re-generate - or that they re-generate differently in hidden areas. @PugLove888 -- Do you know if the hidden areas behave differently?
