Problems since second update - dates and frozen sims?

Hi, sorry if I've posted this to the wrong part of the boards. 

Basically since the second update, whenever my sim invites their partner to a date, the partner says yes but doesn't show up. It results in the immediate "date failed" medal thing appearing, the date ends and my sim is alone in whatever community lot the date was meant to be in.

I'm also having so much trouble with playable and non playable sims getting stuck and 'freezing' in place, and not interacting with anything, their queue just builds up (have used cheats to "debug" and this tends to sort out the problem for a few minutes until it happens again). 

I've removed all CC and mods with no change. I'm also playing Realm of Magic and have the Holiday Celebration Pack, and I'm using the EA app on Windows 11 23H2 (it was all working fine yesterday).

    Move your Mods folder to the Desktop and delete localthumbcache.package. Then test the game in a new save.
    If it works now check for updates to your Mods and CC. Add it back a little at a time while testing until you have found all that are broken.

    Is this also necessary if I'm playing without mods/cc but still have them installed? I have the mods/cc option unchecked in settings. I'll try it anyway just to see if it helps!

    I have also just had this problem. Took my Sims on a date to Salty Paws saloon. All was fine until I interacted with the bar and suddenly everyone broke. No one was moving, my Sims wouldn't move or speak, the mixologist outside the bar wouldn't come inside. Everything froze. but time was still going on. Reset objects didn't fix anything. I eventually managed to get them home and when I got home I had gone back in time. It was an hour earlier than when I was out for the date? It's a bit strange that dates are now broken when a pack is out that revolves around dates...
