PS5 & PC

With the Same EA Account; Can I play a EA game on PS5, while playing Sims4 via EA App on a Windows Device? Or at least Play PS5 EA without being logged out of the Windows EA APP?

  • @SgtSlaughtah   Hello!  Yes, your PS5 games are independent of the EA app on PC.  For example, you can play Apex on PS while waiting for your Sims to finish some chore on PC.  The game files, as well as purchased content, are completely separate.  So, you could even have the same game running on PC and PS simultaneously.  I've done this a lot for testing The Sims 4 issues across the platforms.  As I'm writing this, I am signed into the EA app on PC with TS4 open and have TS4 running on my PS4 also.  I hope this helps!

  • TYVM for your help. I just have one more question regarding a Steam EA linked account.

Can I play EA game on Steam while a Game is being played on another machine via; EA App, or at least remain online, and not auto logged out of the EA APP?

@SgtSlaughtah   I don't use Steam so perhaps someone who does will see this thread and give a definite answer.

In general, you should not have a problem playing different games on different machines regardless of what app you launch from.

However, if you want to play the same game, like The Sims 4, then you would likely only be able to do that between a PC and a console like PS5, since the games are not cross-platform compatible.  I highly doubt that you'd be able to play TS4 on one PC using the EA app and play a Steam version of TS4 on another PC if your EA account is linked.

  • @JonaO703 Again, thanks for all your help.

A family member plays Sims4 on EA APP.

So my biggest concern is logging them out if I play Titanfall 2 or Mass Effect: Andromeda through Steam on a different PC or Steam Deck.

@SgtSlaughtah  I really don't know, to be honest.  The only way to know for sure is to try it.  Perhaps coordinate with your family member to have them launch Sims4 and then you launch one of your games on the other machine before either of you get too far along in your games.  My guess is that it will work just fine.  It would be great if you you could update here with what happens though.

@SgtSlaughtah  You can't be signed into the EA App (and online) on two separate computers at the same time.  The first login will be cancelled when the second one happens.  So for most Steam-based EA games, it wouldn't be possible to run them at the same time as a different game in the EA App.  However, it may be possible to run an EA game through Steam that does NOT require the EA App.  For example, Apex Legends and Sims 3 don't require the App to be running in the background.

The product page for a given game should list whether the EA App needs to be running in the background.  It's in small print along the right side of the page.  Compare the pages for Apex Legends and Sims 4 if you're not sure what to look for.
