@JonaO703 thanks for your input! No need to apologize at all, your view is valid too! I did a few apartments that I fully furnished, which I thought I could rent out as furnished apartments = sims pay a higher rent to include the usage of the furniture. I also built a few apartments that just had a kitchen and bathroom in place. The thing is though, when a sim moves out of the apartment I believe there's the option to take the furniture or sell it. So in the end, let's say a sim moves on to a house that they want to buy (instead of rental) they'd end up selling the apartment's furniture or take it with them while it should belong to a landlord. 😂 that's how I wanted the gameplay to be, honestly. There should be an option like that like rent including furnishing, or purchase furnishings, or rent unfurnished. If you rent including furnishings, the rent will be higher and the items can't go with you once you move. the apartment stays as it was originally; if you purchase then they're yours and you can take them with or sell, the apartment will be empty once you leave; or if it was unfurnished you take with you whatever you bought and the apartment will be empty once you moved.
@PipMenaceI understand what you're saying - but I don't like it haha. I wish it could be a bit different but ahh~ wishful thinking I guess! How do you play with this pack? Do you design rentals including furnishings or unfurnished?
@IrisuChanYup! The sticking point is the non-fixed furniture / build items. If they could some how lock the existing items and factor that into the rental price it would be great. Although, what happens if you want to change any of the furniture; like get a new couch? Does the old one get stored somehow for the next tenant when your sim moves out? What if your sim sells the furniture when they move? From this perspective, @PipMenace makes a good point. While I would prefer renting apartments to work a bit more like real life, it seems like there would be a lot of factors involved. At any rate, I hope the team considers the suggestions you've made. Perhaps they will be able to come up with an improved apartment rental process. :-)
