Re: Any Valedictorian Tips?

Hey there @Yuuko_Flowright,

Valedictorian can be a bit tricky to achieve and requires your Sim to do a lot of extra work.

You'll need to have your Sim do the following on a daily basis to get valedictorian:

  • Be a straight-A student
  • Study for exams
  • Complete all homework
  • Do homework for extra credit
  • Attend all classes

Completing all of these activities each day should earn you that valedictorian spot! If you're having troubles getting those grades up, make sure your Sim goes to school with a focused moodlet every day. Make sure you also review your class schedule so you can check which skills your Sim needs to improve on.

My sim has done all of this, notifications appear and say he is well on the way to becoming valedictorian, weeks have gone by, he's top at everything. I'm now thinking this is just another game glitch and a waste of hours trying to achieve.

@Tippy1960   Hi!  I've been there too and so I feel your pain.  I have a theory that the teen needs to be the first one in the class to achieve an A and maintain it in order to get Valedictorian.  I haven't rigorously tested this.  It's mainly based on the number of times I decided not to have my teen go to High School and cheated them to an A as soon as they aged up or within a few days of the first week.  Every time I've done that, the teen has gotten Valedictorian.  So I just guessed that they got the A before anyone else in the class had the chance to do so.

If you don't want to cheat, then perhaps you could send them to class instead of following them to school, making sure they do their homework and extra credit when available, as well as any projects they come home with right away.  Also, try to send them to school with a focused mood and choose "work hard" from their thumbnail.  I've found that they will get the A much faster this way.  Then, if you still want your teen to experience HS, you could start following them and do everything to maintain the A until you're ready to have them age up and graduate.  I hope this helps!

  • Thanks for the info Jona. I gave up trying and my sim graduated with honors. I'll try again with a different sim. I did notice that the the valedictorian notifications only appeared when I was sending him to class and not following.

  • had an over achiever sim do all homework and extra credit all but one day did extra/extra credit became captain of all after school activities and lvl 4 in game streamer had skills maxed for all the exam pop ups for big boost prompts and got honors , its broken. my tip is act like its the lottery and don't expect to get it. i'm guessing i should have sent them alone the last day just like you have to do to get promoted.

  • Hello, how are you? I have a problem with the Sims 4 High School game. I have all the requirements to become the best student in my class, having an outstanding grade with a gold accent, having done projects, extra assignments, outstanding exams, but I still don't get the notification. My graduation doesn't appear on the calendar either, but if I go to the auditorium I have it. Is it possible that this is a game error?
  • So it's two years later: I still haven't gotten it.

I am not sure it is possible to get this without using cheats.

    - I've done the obvious thing of having a straight A student, doing all homework, all extra credit and all school projects. Since you can buy school projects from BB I figured I'd buy one each day.

    - I became cheerleading captain

    - I did the streamer career to max level

    - I studied for the exam each week

    - I maxed all skills that get taught in classes to 10

    - Not taken a day off high school ever

And I still only graduate with honours.

Then I thought maybe it's my save, so I started a new one and went through the painstaking hassle of migrating all my buildings and redoing all my generations of sims. Ran into some game bugs where sims didn't graduate at all, so had to start a 3rd save. We can now graduate again - but still no valedictorian.

I've been keeping save files along this journey so I can go back each time the sim only graduates with honours. Maybe 20 odd attempts in... I keep getting that pop up saying student is well on their way to becoming valedictorian, but apparently that one is not indicative of getting it.

Does anyone have any theory what actually drives this? I've experimented around with length of time student has been maintaining an A. But 1 or 10 ingame weeks don't make a difference.

This has sorta become my white whale. I'd like to see it trigger just once without using cheats.

Hi! I just got Valedictorian for my sim. I hope this can work for you too.

First of all, sentense from messages above that your Sim should be first to achieve A and maintain it -- is wrong. Well of Desires put my sim to B grade at some point but he earned his A grade back and became Valedictorian on aging.

Things that were done right before and on that happy Monday:

    1)  A grade.

    2) Well passed exams on Friday (but aging on Friday went without Valedictorianship, so that's not enough.)

    3) Completed school project on weekend. I bought it by myself in Buyld-Buy.

    4) He was wearing jewelry with simanite (looks like this did biggest part), emerald (can be good also) and amber (doubtful; I used this because in my language "sim becomes more lucky" were in description).

    5) Went to school under my control.

    6) He used potion of concentration before each class (logic and natural science; I suppose this did second biggest part).

Afrter first class his "event perfomance" was full on two bars out of three. (Good and relevant sign, I think)

I get notification that he is best student.

Then I made him age up without birthday party and he get Valedictorian. Reloaded and ran birthday party. Still get Valedictorian.

My Sim had all school skills at level 10, topped all after-school activities and maxed all careers.Quit all of them several days before.

I think, Valedictorian is really about hightest schol performance at some point and some luck. But simanite jewelry (and may be emerald) rise your sim to unreachable levels so no other student can compete. (But amber still can be a thing. Can't guarantee that.)

School project also rise school performance bar, so completing one should be given a try.

And few mood potions won't hurt.

I hope this will help you finally get Valedictorian.

My experience closely matches this. I just posted the story of my teen on r/sims4.

Mercedes Faust completed all 8 child aspirations. She even maxed logic and piano and scouting as a child.

She was an a student at high school on day 1, and maxed the bar out the next day.

She did homework everyday, she did extra credit every day. She studied for exams, and aced them all.

She completed all 4 HSY teen aspirations. She completed two after school activities in three weeks (normal lifespan), chess and football. (She obviously reached the top of a side hustle for the Goal Oriented aspiration.)

She was prom royalty on week 1.

She maxed 18 10-level skills, and 7 5-level skills. She had 5 positive character traits. She was a global superstar. She earned so many satisfaction points she bought all the skill gain traits like Morning Sim, Night Owl (which she picked up as a child), and Savant. She even spent 8k on Brave. All on normal lifespan. Some of this is unrelated content from other packs that won't affect any Valedictorian tracker.

I almost never get Valedictorian. I did once, but with much less effort. Mercedes graduated with Honours.

Devs: is there an integer overflow? Is my sim over-qualifying?
