@aodoherty , to properly test if this is a mods or CC issue you need to temporarily remove all your mods/CC items from your game, delete the local thumb cache.package file , run the repair again and then test your mods/CC in batches. (All the steps in that order).  If you lost your older saves with this problem, you can always play some more and see if the problem pops up again, and if it does then do the steps listed above.  Also deleting the local thumb cache.package file is very important since bits of corrupted data can remain even if you were to get rid of all your mods and CC!  😞

Please do all of the following in order:

1) Move the Mods Folder to your desktop

2) Delete the localthumbcache.package file in the game folder. (This is very important! 🤨 )

3) Fix you game in Origin by logging in and go to Library, then right-click on The Sims 4 and choose the "Repair Game" option from the list.  Wait until Origin finishes repairing all your packs and not just the base game. If you are playing on a Mac it will only repair the base game. Do not add your Mods folder back in the game yet! 

4) Now, when you turn on your game again, it will create a new mods folder that will be empty.  Check to see if your game is now working without mods/CC.

5) Now you can try adding back items from your Mods folder one at a time checking your game each time to see which item is causing your game to not work properly.  If you have a lot of items, you can try the 50/50 Method, testing in batches. 
Once you have deleted all the outdated/broken Mods or CC items (and hopefully replaced them with versions that are compatible with the most recent game patch) you can now add your Mods folder back to the game! 🙂 

The CC creators will usually update the CC items and Mods after these updates, so when you find out which one is the culprit, you can get the updated version from whoever made that item of CC in the first place.  You should try these steps anytime you have problems in your game to rule out CC/Mods problems.  It is the responsibility of the Mods/CC creators to update their items anytime EA releases a patch/update, and it is the responsibility of the people who use Mods/CC to make sure they are using the most recent version, which should have been on July 23 or 24th.

Thanks for the basic steps for testing.🙂  I think I wrote slightly wrong that I've done 1,2,and 3 when I had this issue last winter time. So I thought it could be from sim moving to other simmer's game. Currently, I couldn't test this without mods from losing the previous save but I already had this all test last winter time. If the mods was the problem, then I would have found the broken mod or saved game problem last winter time as I tested this in the sims 4 folder without mods. I didn't need to do 4 and 5, I didn't have any mods problem. I'd like to hear there will be any other simmers have the same issue.

@aodoherty can you try to accept again and see what happens? 🤔  Just make a copy of your save before you try it, just in case! 🤨

Recently, my whole family stay in the house from quarantine and I need to look after my son during the summer vacation. I can play the sims 4 only 2-3 hrs a day. ☹️. If it’s my own issue, then I would like to play my household more. It takes long time to test this is a bug or mod issue. Sorry..i wish I had more time to play the sims and I can test many things but currently, I can play my sim family for just a day or two in sim time. 

@aodoherty , no that is fine! 🙂 YOu need to take care of your real family and real life issues! 🤨 I think a lot of us who help here are more used to people needing or expecting instant help, so we try to respond quickly, and we also get a lot of people who try our suggestions right away... but there are some others who might not be able to try our suggestions out for months.  Take your time-- there is no rush! 😇
