Re: Ceiling Help

@GridironGuy88 I'm not sure what you mean by unique shape exactly.  Would you please add a screen capture of the room? Also, by ceiling prompt, do you mean the yellow, "build ceiling" outline above the room?  I think that's what @jpkarlsen was referring to.  I'm not much of a builder but I just tried playing around with some odd shaped rooms. I noticed the "build ceiling" prompt only shows if you're on the ceiling level.

Floor level:

Ceiling level:

Edit: I just remembered drawing a room in an existing build.  My sims kept running "inside" during a thunderstorm.  Then I noticed I could see into the room from the second floor and realized it didn't have a ceiling.  I could not get the ceiling to build for that room.  So if that's the problem you're having, I hope someone else knows how to fix that! :-)

  • Here is a screenshot of the room and by the outline of the room, the yellow outline doesn’t appear. I did create it on the second floor. I did have to create it wall by wall as opposed to one room so maybe that’s it. Some of my other rooms won’t give me the build ceiling feature either.

  • I just noticed that any room on the second floor that I need a ceiling on, I just bring that room to the ground level and the ceiling automatically fills in. But as soon as I bring it back up to the second floor, it disappears again

@GridironGuy88 Based on the first image, I can see that screenshot is showing the room with walls down at floor level (the grid is on the floor of the room).  Like this...

Do you not get the "build ceiling" prompt when you page up to ceiling level (the grid is on the ceiling of the room)?  Like this...

In the second image you shared, I can see the grid is on the ceiling level.  Like this...

  • @JonaO703 I figured out a way around it. It’s letting me extend the ceiling from an existing room. Thank you for all your help!

@GridironGuy88 I have absolutely no idea what you mean by "extend the ceiling".  LOL  But I'm glad you got something to work for you. 🙂

  • @JonaO703 Lol I just mean I found a way to fill in all of the open ceiling tiles from one of the rooms by using the “eye dropper”
