Re: Constant Anger or Sad Moodlet

@cchb87 , I'm not sure about the angry one since I haven't encountered that yet.🤔  The sad one being due to aspirations not being met sounds like the new Wants & Fears system that has replaced the old Whims system. (And perhaps the anger one is also part of the new system, but I'm not sure.)  I have some of my Sims get sad when not enough of their wants have been met, and then they develop a special kind of trait relating to this.  I'm still working out how this system works myself since it is not only different to the Whims system that Sims 4 used to have, but it is also different from the Wants & Fears system that the Sims 2 had!  So I am a bit confused at the moment as well! 🤪

But then again, this might be completely different than the problem that you have.  I just think it sounds like it could be the same cause. I feel that part of my problem is not understanding how the new system works yet.

🤷‍♀️

This is not the same Fear, and special trait, but it is very similar to the fear of not having their wants met in the pictures below:

This first picture shows a desire to discuss their fear of death that is related to the new trait that shows up:

This one shows the new trait that elders can get that is related to the new wants and fears:

This is similar to when I was playing a teen who got suddenly got the Fear of unfulfilled wants (it hadn't been there before).  This was triggered by me not fulfilling her wants in a timely manner (I was too focused on figuring out how the new high school worked as well as other things in the pack, and I forgot about her wants)  My guess is that this is a temporary fear, that possibly will go away if I meet enough of her wants, but I'm not 100% sure about that yet. In the case of the elder in the pictures, I need to either give the Grim Reaper a Death Flower, or else talk to another elder about his fear of death, and then I think the new trait will go away.  But again, I'm not sure.  I've been too busy discovering the pack, and not concentrating on their wants and fears.

Does your Sim have any spiky bordered wants or a new trait related to a fear? 🤔

While your solutions did prove temporarily effective, they did not help in the long term. One trait stuck (the death one) no matter the solutions offered in research, none cleared the fear. Now if the sim had witnessed  death, I would totally understand the fear being permanent and perhaps flaring up every once in awhile, but it is daily. I have another sim that as a child would be tense about being controled, turn sad afterwards when dreams weren't fulfilled, and then angry for 3 hours. Every day. The whole 3 mood cycle would last a total of 6 hours. Every day. Again, I get the sims want to make their own decisions, free will and all, but even humans must control themselves, as children too, so if this is to make sims more lifelike, then this system definitely needs an off button (separate from the old system that was in place).

Thank you for the help on this.

Reward traits help alot with that. One can completely prevent tense and embarassing moodlets. As for other negative moodlets, you can buy moodlet remover potions in the reward store. They are very cheap.

The wants & fears can be turned off in the gameplay settings but you have to enable and disable that every time you travel or start the game. Not the best solution but at least as long as you play you can get rid of it for awhile.
