Re: [FAQ] Common Issues with Cheats

I can not promote my Sim in any career path by using the standard careers promote cheat code. After entering testing cheats on, any careers promote cheat code simply does not work.

I am on a pc and I am not using any mods. Is anyone else experiencing this same issue?

You're welcome! I went to cheat my sim up the business career last night and it didn't work. I tried a few different things but nothing. Weird.

That's the career I was looking to speed up as well! I sure hope they address this soon as I'm quite spoiled by this cheat lol!

I am having the same issue with the "for rent" handyperson career cheat careers.promote parttime_handyperson not working.

    careers.promote adult_parttime_handyperson didn't work for me either.

Did you put testingcheats first and check the current level ? The career only has 3 levels.

I had testingcheats true on but I didn't realize it only had 3 levels. I had my sim that had the "connections" trait from the reward store join the career and he was immediately set to level 3. I assumed there were more than 3 levels because he did not receive the "resourceful repairer" trait from getting to the max level of the handyperson career. I had to use cheats to add the "resourceful repairer" trait to my sim. I guess with the handyperson career at max level there is no earning a raise like with regular careers when there is something like (2) added next to the job title? I didn't get any raise notifications or anything like (2) added next to the job title when using either of the career cheats I tried. I know that the diver part time career from island living has the earning a raise that adds something like (2) next to the career title and the diver career cheat works for getting a raise and getting something like (2) next to the job title.

I'm really unsure about that. Make create a thread in general discussion and ask there. Someone there will probably know.
