Re: [FAQ] Sims 4 Buy a Bundle: Windows and macOS

I wanted to build a bundle for The Sims 4 as there are several packs I don't currently own, but when I go to the bundles page, it only lists four pre-made bundles and there's no option to build your own. has this option been removed permanently?

@jillianbillingsYes, I think the build the bundle option was only available when you bought sims with your packs but now that the base game is free to play though are now expired. They are using the DLC for the end of life funding for the next few DLC and The Sims 5.

Edit though it may take while to build a new game, at least we know it is coming at some point.

I’m not sure that’s true, I’ve owned the base game for years and have used the build a bundle in the past. usually you pick 1 expansion pack, 1 game pack and 1 stuff pack. I don’t believe the base game was ever part of the bundles.

@jillianbillings  You can still bundle through Origin, although I don't think the EA App has that function at the moment.  If you need to reinstall Origin, you can find a download link here:

    https://answers.ea.com/t5/Origin-Client-Web-Technical/Downloading-and-installing-Origin-Windows-and-Mac/m-p/11915666

Sign into Origin, find Sims 4 in the store (not in your game library), and scroll down to just below the info in "Overview," like so:

Click the Build Your Bundle button and you should be good to go.

Please keep in mind that High School Years, Werewolves, and Wedding Stories are currently not available for bundling.

@Sid1701d9  It has been possible for a number of years to bundle the expansion, game pack, and stuff pack of your choice, aside from the occasional lockout of the newest releases.  Buying the base game at the same time has never been a requirement.

I found it, thank you!! I had been using the EA app so had to reinstall Origin. High School Years is the only EP I don't own so unfortunately it won't let me build a bundle. I read in other threads that EPs are usually available to bundle a few weeks after release but it's been out since the end of July. any idea when/if it'll be an option for bundling?

    Hey everyone,

I have been on the EA website and the app and there is no option to build your own bundles or add on more games when purchasing. All I can see are EA made game bundles. Did they remove this option?

@Cstragalas  The option does show within the EA App, but only if you are able to build a bundle.  (In the Origin app, the button is there in the game's description regardless, but you'd get the "you're quite the collector" message if you owned everything.)

Please keep in mind that High School Years, Werewolves, and Wedding Stories cannot be bundled at this time.  EA has not indicated when these packs will be added.

It's really so frustrating. I have been waiting through multiple sales at this point since the bundle option still would end up being slightly cheaper. If they end up announcing in a few months, or a year, or who knows, that bundling will never be available for those packs, I don't even know??? Losing months of potential gameplay for a few bucks might be silly but for some it is necessary. But losing months of gameplay for no reason because EA after all these years still have not learned to communicate even basic information? UGH!

I know you don't work for EA, and I'm not trying to take it out on you. Just venting in the only place that gives anything close to updated info.

    Thank you for your work.

Yeah, that little bit of extra money off was always nice and helpful. But I also liked bundling for the ease of use. I always wait for big sales and so I rarely buy things on a whim or when they're initially released. This means I usually buy two or three packs at a time and it's not only annoying to do those purchases one by one per pack but it can potentially flag your credit card for suspicious activity if they're all the same price point. This is a very minor issue and it's easy to resolve but it's very annoying.

I also sorely miss the way the kits were handled in the Origin app! You could add them into their own respective bundle and while there wasn't any discount and I know that seeing them add up so fast may deter most people from buying several, if you're determined to buy a bunch of them anyways, it's a pain in the rear to buy 4 or 5 at a time. Just because I don't buy here and there, if I'm sort of saving up, I'd rather lump them into one purchase and have complete control over what I include, as well as a reminder of how much they are so I don't go overboard. The EA App does recommend other Kits you don't own but it chooses those at random based on what others have bought plus I can't include all of the ones I'm interested in at once. And I realized the Moonlight Chic Kit isn't displaying properly when you cycle through the Kits section; I had to use the search function to find it! 😞

I wish we either had the bundling back or a proper cart system. More likely the cart system since they're not making Stuff Packs any more and the newest packs were always excluded from the bundles. And well, if they no longer want to offer the extra discount, that removes anyone's expectations of such. 😳

Edit: Also, they recommend Kits when you click to purchase anything, but having the option to tack on a cute little Kit of my choice, if I was just interested in buying one or two Kits along with a Pack or two that's on sale, would be really nice. I appreciate the recommendations and they're not inherently bad but having complete control is really handy. Then the Kit recommendations don't feel as pushy, like they're trying to negate your savings instead of giving you a helpful suggestion. Of course you can remove it if you change your mind or just reject it outright but I find it super annoying when any website will always pop-up with one more product, it feels like they're asking if I want fries with that and the answer might be that I'd love a side but they won't make it easy for me to pick what I want with my order. Just let me choose FFS. Give me a proper cart instead of this pseudo-cart option.

@puzzlezaddict Do you know when or if they will add those packs to be bundled? (Those are coincidentally the only ones I don't have.)

@apigaill  No, I don't, sorry.  As said in the opening post, there's no (publicly available) information on when, or if, the new packs will be added.  If that does happen, I'll post in this thread, so feel free to subscribe to get updates.

@gemzyc123  We don't know when, or even if, the new packs will be made available for bundling.  But I'll update this thread whenever we get more information either way.

    Hi there,

Any chance the kits will be available as bundle/s? The game has like released 17+ kits and yet I rarely see these kits on sale.

Most sim titles (stuff packs & Exp) that are on sale are quite old and have been released for a long time, with the exception of two game packs released in 2022.

It would be nice to see some 'fresh' content on sale that is available for long-term players who already own the majority of DLC minus the kits.

@Boldenbeau Good idea, I often add a couple at a time. It would be great if console players could bundle too as currently that option isn't available to us.

I currently have one of each pack type (expansion, game and stuff) and was wanting to use the bundle and save method to buy multiple packs. Every time I go to do so, Origin tells me I have too much content. I'm just confused as I do have one of each pack type that i am yet to purchase. Please help me

@MissGlitter04 2022 and 2023's packs aren't available to bundle yet. Are there an expansion, game, and stuff pack, all from 2021 or earlier, that you don't own?
