teen sim no longer on university soccer team

My teen sim graduated early and my sim enrolled in university and got the athletics scholarship. She has only been in university for 5 days. I logged of after she got back from her soccer game, came back the next day and now she is no longer on the team yet still wearing the soccer team uniform? I go into the careers tab and it's not even an option for me to have her re-join. Also when I click "check scholarship applications" it now says athletic scholarship not rewarded. I'm so confused, is there a way to get my sim back on the soccer team?
