Re: [GRO] Can't adopt children within household

@SophieLamb94 I'm having issues understanding what you are saying. Are you saying you can't adopt babies that were taken away from other families or do you not have the adoption option on the phone at all ?

If it's the later, did you check the computer ?

  • No what I mean is in the Growing Together expansion pack there's an option where you can now adopt own kids but it's not letting me. I don't mean from the phone I mean own kids. If you look online there's a photo that shows a toddler and it says adopt channing but I can't do that on my own game. Have a look at the pictures I sent one is mine and the one that says adopt channing is the one from the Internet

  • Not on the phone I mean there should be an option when you click on tbe infant but it won't let me

    Hi @SophieLamb94

    Are you trying to adopt this infant with a biological parent? Only non-family members within the household can adopt children this way, like a step-parent. Bio-parents of infants or children will not see this option.

  • What do you mean only non family members I tried that. I asked a sim to move in and played that sim clicked on the infant still wouldn't give me that option only says adopt as care dependent that isn't what i want I want to be able to adopt and get a birth certificate which it shows on the interent it states that you can get a birth certificate. And actually adopt the infant not just adopt as a care dependant. Explain to me how I do it cause I already tried what you mentioned. I moved a sim in wasn't a family member then I clicked and didn't let me adopt the infant or give me the birth certificate so I am really confused is this a bug witn the GROWING TOGETHER expansion pack because there are a lot of bugs. So this may one

  • Yep then affection and it doesn't come up. What other way can I find this? It only says adopt as care dependent but that isn't what I want. There is actually an option to adopt and get a birth certificate

    @SophieLamb94

    This option only appears under the Friendly interactions, if you're not seeing it there with a non-family member of the household, it sounds like you're seeing a bug. We'll leave this report open so the team can investigate further.

    Thanks for reporting this!

  • Thank you. But on the picture it shows it in the affection bit. Have a look at the picture 📸   mine doesn't have that option. It must be a bug only says adopt as a care dependent which isn't what I want what I want is adopt channing for example and then a birth certificate. It's not showing me that all. Does asking a sim to move in make them a family member??? Or even if I move a sim in and they are only friends.

    @SophieLamb94

    What you're seeing is currently under the Friendly interaction options- affection is a sub-category for friendly. Adoption is under the Friendly category.

    Asking a Sim to move in does not make them a family member, but does make them part of the household, so they should see the option. Family member would mean a brother, sister, mother or father. A friend moved into the household should see the adoption option under friendly.

    If you're not seeing it, it does sound like you're seeing a bug, so we'll track this further by keeping this report open.

  • The only thing it is saying is adopt as care dependent which isn't what I want

    Can it be infants and toddlers and children that sims can adopt but not as care dependent properly adopt

  • I clicked on friendly. Then it comes up with activities,  affection,  complaints,  compliments, gossip, small talk , stories and watch when I Alex Moyer clicks on tbe toddle. Remember the pie chart for interactions has changed. See it only says adopt as care dependent but it states online that you can actually adopt the child Alex Moyer isn't even related.
