Thank you for your reply, and while step parents may not have any relation they're certainly legally responsible, so I just want the relationships (and Aspirations) tab to recognise it.
I don't have this option to adopt for the babies, I'm guessing I need to age them up to toddler first?

I adopted them as officially care dependant, but that apparently doesn't count as becoming a parent :/

It seems very strange that I could adopt some random child off the internet and it works count, but not adopting the children of my Sim's wife who he has been there for from the beginning.
