Re: I'm fast and it's my first time playing.

@Manachinov, you don't have to build a mansion.  Some people challenge themselves by having their Sims "Live off the Grid" or do Apocalyptic challenges.  Others live in Tiny Houses (especially if they have the Tiny Living Stuff Pack, but there are those who have done this before that pack existed.)
You can grind away at having a Sim start from nothing and reach the "goal" of having a mansion, but I don't play every family that way.  Some I do that , but others I have stories for them that require them to start out better off.  You can use cheats to accomplish this , such as the Free Real Estate Cheat, the Kaching Cheat (or Rosebud Cheat as they are the same) , or even the Motherlode Cheat.

Other players only build houses for their Sims and never play Live Mode.  Similarily, others will only play in Create - A-Sim (CAS) and never paly Live Mode.
The game is really whatever you want it to be ! 🥳 There is no real "end" to the game and no "beating the game" in the Sims! 😉

@PugLove888 Quick reply here! Quit cheating! This game is more about catching a thrill. And what's whatever worse is that every direction for help about this game on Google always starts to make me cheat. Firstly go away, cheat! Secondly, I hate even typing the cheats or having to look for the cheats.

@Manachinov, The Sims is a game to play in any way that you want to!🥳  Using cheats isn't the same as cheating in a game that you are playing with other people (as that is always wrong since it hurts someone else's  game.😢 ) But since The Sims is a game you play by yourself then you don't hurt anyone.  The only exception is if you are playing a Challenge, in which case you should never use cheats, unless that particular challenge allows certain ones!

Many people play this game different from each other.😎  Cheats are actually part of the game that EA has allowed us to use. 🙂 Some cheats are actually necessary , like when your Sim is stuck and will die if you don't get them to function properly again!  🤨

Similarly I don't use Mods or CC, but I have no problem with other people using Mods/CC because it doesn't affect my game.😉  (I do warn that not maintaining your Mods/CC can cause problems , but Mods and Cheats are fine for those willing to maintain them properly!)  Me or other players using cheats does not affect your game in any way! 🙂

The Sims isn't just about "catching a thrill" as you put it. It is about that,  but it is also about designing, time management , making stories, experimenting, etc. That is why it appeals to sooooo many people, male and female, of all ages, all over the world! The Sims are about whatever you want to make of it.  I don't go telling people who only build houses not to play that way because I play in Live Mode and therefore they should too -- that would be very limiting! ☹️

I have played The Sims since the original version and have also played TS2, TS3, and this version.  I do not want to start with every family the exact same , struggling in the same houses.  I've done that thousands of times before.😪  That is why I play every family different.  Some I start the from the bottom, but most I just use the free real estate cheat and that is it.  Others I do use money cheats.... I need to do this in order to make the stories that I want to make.  Not every story is a rags-to-riches story … sometimes the story is a riches-to-rags story! 🤨😃

Furthermore, when a new pack comes out, I want to experiment with what that pack offers.  I can't do this if I'm forever starting at the bottom, and as for my already wealthy households, I don't always want to disrupt the style or layout of their homes with items from a new pack that might not go with the house or make sense for that household to use!😞  And it is a good thing that there are people willing to experiment with these new items because that way we can all better help answer questions about those items here on AHQ! 😇

You do not have to use cheats if you don't want to (unless your Sim is stuck).  I can't answer for Google, as I don't work for Google. But I would think that the reason why Google always suggests cheats for the game is because that is what many people ask for! 😉

You play the Sims the way you want to play, and I will play the Sims the way I want to play! 🙌 There is no need to make everyone play the same.  That would be very boring! 😃

    Happy Simming! 🥳

I agree. The way I see it, cheating is half a bug fixing tool and half a convenience tool. If my sim gets stuck, using commands is a necessity. If I spent hours getting my sim to a certain level and a crash happens, commands help me get them back up to speed without spending hours yet again to get them to the same place.

Also, It's for things like the lockpicking mechanic in Skyrim or the planet scanner on Mass Effect. I played it completely thru on console (no cheats or mods existed) and on PC without cheats, so I know I can do the thing, but it gets annoying after a while. Using cheats and mods to "remove" it is strictly a convenience. I know I can do it. I've done it. I've proven myself. Removing it makes things easier and lets me focus on other things.

Plus, has anyone noticed how starting a NEW sim isn't fair? Their skills always start all at "0"? However if you raise a child up to YA, they always have a few skills before reaching that point? So, I created a small script with my own "cheat" command "start" that gives the active sim a few base skills they would normally receive on growing up from child. I could do it manually by spending HOURS and HOURS finding two sims, getting them pregnant, raising the child, getting skills... or just save myself the time and type "start".  Convenience.

@Psychotps, yes I've noticed that starting with a new Sim isn't fair ever since TS2! 😞  Play any Maxis-made Sim that is in the game already (like the Goths, for example) and they will have at least some skills and relationships, even the children!  But when you make an adult Sim in CAS,  you can't add a few skill points (without cheats or mods).  So the game is telling me that having an adult Sim in the game with not one single skill, even charisma, or cooking, or anything is realistic?  🤨🤒😃
