Re: Lot Traits

@LadyAofPineapple I always use Homey or Sunny Aspect. The latter because it can calm negative moods sometimes. I like Peace and Quiet too. I sometimes swap one of them out if my trespassing settings aren't working and neighbours are wandering in and I'll add Private Dwelling, I use that a lot in Sulani. If there are kids or pets I'll add Child's Play, Good Schools or Training Ground. If my Sim is working from home I use the Home Studio/Fast Internet Traits depending on whether they are creatives or techies.

But one of my favourite lot traits is Oceanic Paradise, I wish we could add this to all Sulani lots or seafront lots.

For retail lots I use the Gnomes lot trait so that things get fixed overnight and the Convivial trait too as they are often randomly chosen for date invites. Plus Sunny Aspect again.

I like the Wild Prairie Grass challenge trait because you can harvest it and find bottles of Nectar, I use that on some public parks and vacation lots. So my Sims can look for surprises. Also so the horses get a snack while travelling.

My least favourite are Cursed and Creepy Crawlies. I always always forget to remove the Creepy Crawlies one from jungle vacation lots and forget you can't do it while staying at the lot. As my Sims are jumping out of bed and running around squealing I'm saying "sorry, sorry I'll remember next time!" 🤦

@simsplayer818 Those are all good points! And yeah, I should have specified home versus other lot types for my answer, but honestly, there are so many good ones that I wish we could have more than three traits. The challenges, however, I think you have the option to have way more! lol. The prairie grass one is definitely less of a challenge and more of a bonus, in my opinion.
@GiardiniDiMarzo Those are all great! I also add lot traits to everything in my game as well. 🙂

@LadyAofPineapple Interesting question!
For home lots, my most common go-to traits are Geothermal (because as mentioned above, sims will not leave the pools alone in freezing Temps), Fast Internet (for convenience), and either Homey or Peace and Quiet. It changes based on the composition of my household, of course, but these are probably the ones I use the most 🙂

@LadyAofPineapple I like that about the lot challenges too.
There's a lot to like about the Simple Living trait in particular but it has it's drawbacks. It does require pretty full inventories/fridges and they can cause a lagging issue on console. Plus, I'm noticing that using the new "Switch to this household" option (which is great btw) is really problematic if the household I'm switching from has full inventories. It causes an impossible lag. So if I was playing Simple Living that would cause a real problem. I like to use it sometimes but it takes a bit more thought and planning.

I use the ones that make sense for certain lots, such as Wild Foxes if near a forest, Bracing breezes on the Windenburg island, Filthy for more run-down places. Basically I try to give lots a unique feel, and I only use most of the lot traits for community lots. For residential lots though, I always use Simple Living and Reduce and Recycle, as well as Maintenance Troubles and Mold (still deciding if these are too intrusive for every lot - I had to turn off Mold for a family of 6 sharing one bathroom because they were all dazed all the time lol). Also I use Good Schools for families that would send their kids to private school.
