Shopping cart notification constantly appearing

EA_Solaire​ this is happening for me on the save file I sent you, if I play online. It's constantly popping up (like 5 times in a couple of minutes, even if I don't "wave" it away with the mouse cursor). I don't want to buy it, and like others have said, do we REALLY need 6 layers of ads? People love this game. If they can afford it, they usually buy the stuff they want. So EA's really only advertising to the brokes and for the packs people don't want. I can't see how this has helped in sales, at all.

UPDATE: it now pops up every time I switch between sims, and will not go away until I drag my cursor over it. I'm about to rage quit. And then play offline again.

    Annoyingly, you have to actually click on it to open the full ad, then close the ad, then close the store that opened behind the ad, and only then will it stop getting in the way of your game. I’ve taken to just doing this immediately when I open a save because there’ve been too many times I was trying to catch a sim/pet before they left or collect a bug before sunrise or harvest a plant before it regrows and couldn’t because that silly pop-up would slide back in at just the wrong moment…

    Even though I do look at the ad for a pack I already have by the way, When MCCC does an auto save, up pops the annoying pop up usually covering half a sim message. It is really annoying. I think there is an add on to stop it but haven't found it yet.

    I'm still very curious as to why I never have ads. I do have the shopping cart but no text and also no full ads.

    Do any of you have this set to off like me. You can find it in your EA account security and privacy settings

    That worked for you ? Is this just working for the shopping cart for you or also the ads at the beginning ? I've asked around on Bluesky and there this didn't seem to help for anyone.

    Yes, it works for me both.
    After setting this up, I waited two days before turning my PS5 back on to check. Since then, I haven‘t had any more ads appear, even when I played again on last Saturday.
    Just FYI.

    Found the privacy settings while logged into the EA website and turned off targeted ads. After that, I still got the pop-up / full screen ads on the main menu, and the glowing dot on the shopping cart, but so far no pop-up on the shopping cart.

    HakhaKZ1​ Interesting. Maybe it does do what it's supposed to on console but doesn't properly work on PC/Mac.

    I'm also getting it every single time I switch Sims with it only going away if I scroll over it.
