Re: Map Editor for Sims 4.

The Problem with buying expansions and stuff packs to get more worlds is that, I'm not doing it to get more worlds.  I buy expansions to get certain desirable features.  Some expansion packs are considered undesirable due to lack of desired content and/or features.  I avoid the pets, because I remembered what happened in Sims 3, when I got pets.  It caused a lot of curious bugs and unwanted animals, plus there are no horses in the Sims 4 expansion.  I did not get Vampire, because they just aren't interesting and a waste of space to me.  Strangerville had absolutely nothing on it, content wise for me.  Realm of Magic has nothing to offer me, really, because many of the other expansions offer the same things it offers.  Discover University was an expansion that I have less fond memories in Sims 2 and actively avoided it in Sims 3.  I looked contentwise at Sims 4 and there was absolutely nothing there for me.  Now, if they had a world editor, they sold separately to allow me to edit and create new worlds, then that would be interesting.

@joemiller1972, I understand why you might not want to buy certain EPs and GPs , but right now that is the only way to add more neighborhoods/worlds to your game, which is why @SheriGR gave you list detailing each pack offers! 😇  Of course, whether you get more packs, and which ones to get are entirely up to you, but at least if you think you might want another one, you have a list to help you ! 😉

Also, many Simmers make each neighborhood their own and then save it so others can enjoy the revamped towns.  The YouTuber Lilsimsie is known for her Simsie save!  She is very good at building and making the world both prettier and more functional. 🙌  But she isn't the only one to do this! 😉

@joemiller1972 I'm sorry to hear you have no use for the other packs. It would definitely be nice to have more lots and more ability to edit them, I agree with your point on this.

Though Cat's & Dogs isn't perfect it runs quite well in Sims 4, and I really enjoy the pets. I do hold up hope they will do a farm pack at one point and add horses, as they sound good to me also - but only really with a farm pack. Also, Brindleton Bay (the town that comes with Cats & Dogs) is very nice. I must admit, though, that I only have the Vampires pack for build mode items and never use the vamp town at all. Not my style

Get together has Windenberg, and it is one of my favorite towns to build in. I build mainly anymore, and I do find that playing different purposes/themes/and build projects in different saves also feels like a way to expand my lots and worlds and horizons, so to speak.

One of the freedoms of becoming more familiar with building, or with what you like and downloading it from the gallery, is that I have no qualms about evicting sims that are not mine (they will still be around in the town anyway) and filling lots with my own or desired households, bulldozing existing lots and adding my own, and editing anything I can possibly edit, if I want to. You can do an awful lot if you do these things. (Including some of the editing cheats and tricks I mentioned before.)

There are also many build and play challenges if your game is not interesting you: https://forums.thesims.com/en_US/categories/the-sims-4-stories-and-legacies

But... if none of these options are interesting to you, and if you cannot think of any interesting use of your game, I'm sorry to hear that. I hope this will change for you.
