Re: Midlife crisis - no moodlet

This is happening to me as well. I think (not tested) that the problem is that I play rotational gameplay, and if I leave a Sim in the middle of the crisis to play a different household, and then I get back to the original Sim, they loose the moodlet but still have the aspiration tasks, which keep renewing when completed and I can never get rid of them completely. Not a showstopper, but still annoying...

@mariahann98 Do you have mods or CC in your Mods folder? If so, do a "vanilla" test to see if a mod/CC is your problem: Drag the Mods folder to the desktop, delete the file called localthumbcache, open the game to test, and exit without saving.

@luthienrising Thank you for the help! I removed the moodlet with the midlife crisis timer when I made my sim “fine” and then I’ve been completing the task but the crisis is not going away. I’ve completed so many that I only have two task left and the bonsai tree is one and it is not indicating that I completed the task even though I’ve done it +3 times now. I tried taking mods and cc out—problem still occurring. The midlife crisis goes away/speeds up with task completion for other sims who have the midlife crisis moodlet in my game.

This has happened to me. One Sim got a midlife crisis just hours before the game patch on October 22, 2024. She got the usual 7-day timer buff, which decreased as she did tasks on her list, and finally the crisis was resolved (in less than 7 Sim days). Her husband got a midlife crisis just a few (RL) days ago. I've been playing him for a Sim week now; his tasks keep checking off and renewing, but he has no timer buff, and I'm starting to wonder if it will ever resolve. I honestly didn't notice if he had the buff when he first got the crisis or not, and I don't have a save that dates to that point in time.

I do have MCCC, but it's my only script mod, and it was in for both instances. I did update the mod to the most current version after the patch. If the task list never goes away, I guess it's alright. He's carefree and doesn't get tense about it, nor does he get scared that time is passing. He does sometimes contemplate life, but don't we all.

    Update to this:

I started ignoring the crisis after the above post. Three more Sim days passed (10 total days of crisis). It was the day before the Sim's elder birthday, and it finally resolved. Yay?
