i tried this suggestion recently (moved family/household from the gallery to a new save) and my inventory was lost, money they had lost and the relationships didn't vanish but the mom somehow lost her ability to breastfeed her child anyway. I had to recover save and move them back into the original save before all things came back.

Unfortunately moving to a brand new save from the gallery will cause personal and household inventory to be lost and reset of household funds back to basic amount. A workaround which might work is to choose special items and save them as a room (or a lot) on the gallery or to the library if you prefer.
The household funds can be adjusted using a money cheat once they are in their new home. The room with the saved items can be placed on their new lot.

Yeah, I'm aware of the money cheats so at the end of the day that wasn't the biggest issue but the fact that My mother sim lost the ability to breastfeed her child was. It still showed the relationship between mother and daughter but she was no longer allowed the option to breastfeed
