@kscales10 What do you mean by home page ? The main menu where you have Resume and load ? If you load another save for the family to show, you probably put them in a different save game.
Load the brown family in the gallery/library, then start the save with the smith family. On the map, make sure no house is selected and then click on the arrow in the lower right corner to create a new family in that save.
Down load the brown family from the gallery and place them wherever you want. After that they should be in the same save game.
