@hoxharding It sounds to me like it's working just fine, you just don't understand what's going on.

When things get that green/dirt stuff on them, they're just dirty. They get dirty through normal use and you just need to clean them. (Click on it and select 'clean') You can also upgrade a lot of things to "auto-clean" if you have handiness skill, or you can also hire a maid to clean for you.

Sometimes using a shower will get water on the ground, or when a sink or toilet breaks, water will get on the ground. You just need to mop it up.

If the sister was flirting with her brother, were they blood siblings or by marriage? Blood siblings can't flirt. Siblings by marriage can (I think).

I think siblings can become broken and flirt, but that's rare. It's never happened to me. There ARE mods that disable family romance restrictions, but you said you don't use mods.

Magic Sims will never use spells on their own. They may "practice" magic, but not cast spells. If a sim used the freeze spell (Chillio), you must have clicked it accidentally. There's also the "Sim Ray" you can get through a few ways, but normally from the Scientist career. It can "Freeze Ray" a sim. I think you can also buy the SimRay from the computer's gift menu.

Just keep playing, it's still a lot of fun. I doubt anything's broken.

    @Psychotps I fully agree with you.
    I once tried to kill a Sim using a spellcaster. The only thing that happend was that the cursed Sim started to react like she was infected by spores of the Strangerville motherplant. She walked funny and had all sorts of stars emitting from her and around her body. I never saw green substances emitting unless there was dirt or grime.

    Because of the hugh family tree, I have been creating, I can acknowledge that non blood siblings can flirt in the same household as soon as they reach the right age. The only way teenagers could start such a behavior is when there are mods involved. So this must be a mod related issue.

              I checked the two flirting teens. They are blood related. BUT-there was not a romance option when they did. When they were around other people. The romance p[tion came back. Maybe it is possible that they were talking about stuff like dating and wanted a GF or BF? Maybe that would be enough to make them turn pink?

               There was ine thing that happened that was funny in an immature way. One sibling was chatting with a girl. His twin brother walked buying eating cereal or something.

    Then the cereal sibling appeared to fart and then stand between his brother and the girl.(green fume had come out the the guy's rear end(

              He just stood there while they two potential love interests and they seemed to be acting as if they could detect the small. I did get them moved away from fart brother and they seemed happy about that.

    Well, a sim can become flirty without having romance dialog options.There are a LOT of ways a sim can become flirty. Being around someone they like. If one of the sibling's friends flirted with him, it could get him flirty. Or if he has a romance aspiration or trait, he can get flirty spontaneously. A Flirty painting, watching Romance TV, or even reading a romance book will get them flirty too. There's also cold showers, the ice bucket reward from getting Gold on a date, flirty photographs...

    Likely what happened is one sibling got flirty by some means and ended up talking to their sibling. Moods stick around for a while. It doesn't mean anything.

    Having romance options is dependent on the sim. If a sim clicks on his sibling, there should be no romance options. But if the sim clicks on his friend, it should be there. But both of those have nothing to do with their MOOD.


    The sibling can get flirty through some other method and talk to their sibling just fine. It doesn't mean they got flirty BY talking to their sibling. It sounds like it was just a coincidence.

    If you make one sibling active and click on the other sibling and you don't see any romance options, then you're just fine. If you don't see the romance menu then there will be NO romance between those two sims.

    If a sim farted, it's either because they have the slob trait or they were eating franks and beans. There are a lot of small interactions like that. If you have City Living, go to the city and have one of your sims find and eat Curry. They'll end up breathing FIRE. You can then take them home and make it for the family and the whole family will do it.. at least until they get used to it.

    Oriental food is funny too. Sweet and Sour Pork is hilarious when the sim doesn't know how to use chopsticks.

    Tip: You'll find Curry at the Indian food stall in the Spice district on Monday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Chinese food is found in the Fashion district on Tuesday, Friday, and Saturdays.
