Pro Tip: Setting the Egg Hunt as a holiday tradition will allow you to search in some strange places.
There is a cool down period that will keep you from searching in the same places again for a while.
You can travel to other lots to increase your chances of completing the collection sooner.

Thanks so much for that tip @EuphorialQueen 🙌 I did not realize there was a cool-down period and that you could check in the same location more than once per holiday. LOL it's no wonder I have never managed to complete the collection! xDDD
I managed to collect all the eggs it was hard I couldn't find the first one anywhere so I made the tradition everyday for a week and I finally found it in the bushes in front of the chez liama and I unlocked bun bun.
@Rachelharris31 I created a custom holiday with the Egg Hunt tradition on the same day as the Romance Festival in San Myshuno. Between searching all of the planter boxes, park benches, etc., in the festival area and various items in the karaoke bar next-door, I was able to complete the entire collection start-to-finish all in one night! xD And yeah, it unlocked Bun Bun for me too :D
I think I was awarded the Easter Egg Sleuth badge b/c I [+XP] a comment on this thread. I totally over-estimated how difficult earning that badge was going to be! It's almost like the badge itself was an Easter Egg. (:
