Hey @crinrict thank you for your reply. No these sims just became young adults so weren't attending uni before.. I don't have any mod installed...I don't know what's wrong should I maybe repair the game on the Origin launch menu (playing on Mac)?

Did they apply for an uni loan as teens ?
