@tyler243879 The insects are all on the ground or flying near bushes. I found it helped to zoom my camera in very close to the ground to find them. A little gear icon will appear when you come across harvestable critters.

I am aware of this but I never see any beetles. it's only rainbow/fireflies, dragonflies, those dust mite things and flies never any beetles.
- @tyler243879 The bugs are random based on the time of day and where you are. If you don't have luck at the camp area you can try the deep woods and the hermit hut. They each have different bug spawns. I think lady bugs count as beetles, so you may try those since they aren't rare like the jewel beetles.
